Kingdom Backpack

The mission of the Kingdom Back-Pack Program is to help lessen child hunger by addressing the lack of food resources on the weekend and holidays for children who are defend-less against hunger by providing groceries for them to prepare and consume at home.

For several years, Charlotte Calvary Church of the Nazarene has provided 30 weekly snack-pack meals to the children that attend Windsor Park Elementary School. This year, we are pleased to announce we have increase our snack meals by thirty (30); which brought our blessing up to sixty (60) children. The children might have gone hungry over the weekend had it not been for generous Partners In-Support and Private Donors who gave an extra hand up to include them.

Hunger Never Takes A Vacation

For many kids, hunger never takes’ a vacation. Children who depend on school breakfast and lunch programs are often struggling with what to wrap up and take home for the weekend. For many there are other sibling at home that would go hungry if they didn’t.

Together, we can lessen hunger for the children and their family. Setting up a donation box may be all that is required. Ask your friends, family, and employer to donate the following items.

Boxed food items           Can food Items                               Nutritional Drinks

Powdered Milk               Package food Items                       Cookies/Crackers

Personal Care Items      Soap/Laundry Detergent             Toilet Paper etc…

Back Too School Supply For The Entire Year is Needed

Our Charlotte community children have return to school with huge smiling faces but a inevitable moment may come when the teacher ask them to get out a pencil, or a notebook, folder or binder; “What do you think happens to those smiling faces”? “They disappear”.

Some of these children don’t have what is required. We as adults can easily think, that’s ok; some other kid will lend them what they need; or maybe the teacher has extras. That may be true, but it doesn’t eliminate the moment when a little boy or a little girl, realizes in front of their classmates, they don’t have what they supposed to have…and it’s definitely not at home waiting.

If we start now, we can be ready to meet those requirements. Together, we can put the smile back on their faces. Setting up a donation box may be all that is required. Ask your friends, family, and employer to donate the following items.

School Supplies supplies

Calculators Glue Sticks Crayons
Various binders Scotch Tape Book bags/Backpacks
Notebooks Rulers Lunch Boxes
Pencils Scissors
Pens Loose Leaf Paper

Donate School Uniforms

Some families have to choose between school supplies, putting food on the table, paying the rent, or keeping the lights on. What do you think their choice will be?

America said “We Leave No Child Behind” your support is needed if this is true. A child deserves to have at least 2 new or gently used uniforms or they will be left behind and what is that saying for us Americans? A hand up with dignity is all that is needed. Setting up a donation box may be all that is required. Ask your friends, family, and employer to donate the following items.

Boys Sizes 5-14 Shirts: Polo

Oxford Color: Navy and White

Girls

HELP FEED THOSE WHO ARE HUNGRY

“Enlarge Your World to Include Them”

“They don’t have to look for us; we look for them”

Giving a hand up to families of the community is what our mission is all about. It gives us a noble purpose. We felt blessed to witness the impact of the provisions our Partner In-Support and Private Donors had on eight-hundred and twenty (820) people in the community.

We need your immediate support if the children and their families are to survive and more importantly thrive. With the support of generous Partners In-Support and Private Donors we were able to give the children and their family adequate quantities of nutritious food they actually can and do eat.
It’s cold every day When You Are Hungry!

Your in-kind/monetary gift will help sustain our efforts to lessen hunger for the children and their families. Giving a Hand Up will help the children and their families to eat better this year. Setting up a donation box may be all that is needed.
